COMMUNITY INTERVENTIONS |
FSC has been involved in developmental projects in the urban slum pockets of South Mumbai for over a decade; an intervention initiated in 1997, thereby adopting a more focused, intensive and multi-faceted approach. The overwhelming response of our interventions encouraged us to expand our horizons and hence in the year 2009, we replicated our efforts with the fisher folk community of Uttan, Bhayander.
The interventions have been strategized keeping in view the holistic development of the child and family thereby providing a positive environment at all levels. Our interventions in the communities are need based. Resources have been mobilized within the communities through peoples’ participation. FSC runs both welfare and developmental programmes for support and sustainability in the community, through ongoing information dissemination, guidance and hands on support to the community dwellers.
The three prominent focus areas of our interventions revolve around women’s empowerment, overall well-being of children and general health of community dwellers; thereby coinciding in the line with URCRC ideology.
